The namesake of Post 6 Georgia is Sgt. William Singleton Morris and Private James Franklin Little. In July of 1919, a group of veterans who were former students of Georgia Military College in Milledgeville decided to form an American Legion Post. In August of 1919 they submitted an application to the newly formed American Legion National Headquarters.
