Blue Ox is a fully functioning Victorian job shop which produces custom architectural millwork, as well as interior and exterior details for historic homes and new construction projects around the United States. But it's more than that. Blue Ox is a school, a historic park, and a haven for craftsmen. Blue Ox is the product of nearly four decades of work from master craftsman Eric Hollenbeck and his wife Viviana.

(Above) The Blue Ox Millworks offices are housed in the old North Mountain Power Company building. This building, built in 1904 was once home to Eureka's trolleys, and also spent time as a boatworks before being purchased by Blue Ox in the 1970s.

Blue Ox made several columns for this restoration (though they may not be visible in this picture) as well as several other assorted pieces of millwork. It is one of a dozen gold rush era buildings that form the heart of Skagway's historic district.
