The Basic Construction Company Building is a large, multi-story, masonry building with brick siding located at 80 29th Street in Newport News, Virginia, along the James River. The building is the former headquarters building for the Virginia Engineering Company, later known as the Basic Construction Company, and was constructed in two sections.

Meyer.[6] In the mid 19th century, Meyer had established a factory in Fond du Lac, Wisconsinmaking wooden sashes, doors, and blinds.[6]
