Apr 21, 2017 · In this case, it looks like a real NNC slab, and the grade doesn't surprise me. That's typical for NNC. Perhaps I should have written "pseudo-certification" given that there is no point in certifying a coin two grade levels above its real grade, except to fool people.

Oct 31, 2017 · I recently saw an older commemorative coin on Ebay that I am considering buying but it is graded by the National Numismatic Certification service. I have read comments online that coins are over-graded or they are cleaned. The coin I am looking at was graded back in 1986. Was the grading service better back in 1986? The coin is graded MS64.
